Why Are You Helping?
Torrential rain has caused the rivers to overflow, submerging parts of Sylhet. Many residents have been forced abandon their homes.
What We Plan To Do?
We will provide emergency relief to flood victims. This includes dry food packs for flood victims. We will also provide long term support with home repairs.
Why You Should Help?
The most vulnerable and poorest members of the community have been hit the hardest. They have nowhere to go and lack the means to protect themselves.
Rural Poor Have Been Hardest
The rural poor live in basic mud or tin houses built on the flood plains which have been hit the hardest.
Food shortages are setting in as people are unable to travel to the bazar or work. These individuals, primarily day labourers, find themselves without jobs.
Our Team in Sylhet Providing Emergency Relief
Our local team already operate long term programme in the Greater Sylhet area. We have procured boats to distribute dry food packs to poor people and families who have isolated due to the flooding.
