Today we met 50 Palestinian Orphans and their surviving families in Cairo. Many have arrived here since October 2023.
They have been displaced multiple times within Gaza and have suffered the loss of loved ones. Many children we saw have multiple scars and injuries.
In Cairo they face severe difficulty and economic hardship. The children are unable to enrol in local Government schools and they are dealing with physical and mental trauma since fleeing the war in Gaza.
Palestinian Orphans and Families
We gave cash aid of 3,500 EGP each to 50 orphans. We also gave 7,000 EGP each to 10 injured Palestinians.
Gifts of toys and sweets were individually chosen by our staff and volunteers and handed out to the orphans too!!

The total cash aid we gave to Orphans and injured Palestinians amounted to £5,000 with a further £2,000 in children’s gifts.
